Data Collection
TrackShield does not track your browsing activity, IP address or any personally identifiable information. We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous app usage data (such as app opens and feature usage) to improve the app experience. This data is processed by Google and cannot be used to identify you. No DNS queries, blocked domains or browsing history are ever collected or transmitted.
VPN Service
TrackShield uses Android's VpnService API to create a local VPN tunnel on your device. This VPN is used exclusively to intercept DNS queries and filter known tracker, malware and telemetry domains. No network traffic is routed to external servers. All processing happens entirely on your device.
Local Storage
Blocked domain statistics are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database for the Reports feature. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the app.
Third Parties
TrackShield uses Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics and Firebase Remote Config to keep the dangerous sites database up to date. No advertising or tracking SDKs are integrated. No browsing data, DNS queries or personal information is shared with any third party.
Permissions
• VPN: Creates a local-only VPN to filter DNS requests. No data is sent externally.
• Notifications: Required by Android to display a persistent notification while the VPN service is running.
• Boot Completed: Optional. Allows the app to restart protection automatically after a device reboot, if enabled by the user.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in this page and within the app.
